Alphonse Watercolor Preview

Description

This is my assignment for my Watercolor 1 college class. This is actually taken from a pretty nice picture I took of my Alphonse figure I bought at Ronin Con. Al is from Full Metal Alchemist.

I thought it would be interesting to do and the point of the assignment was to take an object and make an up close crop, and it had to have a wide range of value. I hope he looks okay so far ^^; I'm not so great at watercolor (or coloring it all!) so I'm actually kinda proud I got this to look so nice ^^ OH and before anyone says it x.x YES I did the border in photoshop!! x.x

I could've made it alot bigger but it would show too many mistakes I haven't covered up yet. The background isn't done, and neither is his helmet tassle thing. I'm new at watercolor so I know this isn't perfect BY FAR but I rarely color and I was so excieted I just wanted to upload some of Al.

I also might add that in my painting his whole head is in it, plus some room to spare on both sides which didn't fit on the scanner and since it's not done, I didn't bother trying to place two or more scans together so this is the preview sorta image ^^ Also, I wasn't sure if I should put this in fanart... cause I really did take it from a photo reference that I took with the digital camera ^^

Enjoy Alphonse and I hope he looks okay! I have another watercolor that I'd like to also scan but it's still at school and after I'm done with Al I get to work on an Interior! Woo!

And please let me know if there is anything I could fix before I turn it in!! Thank you ^^

Alphonse himself is (c) to his respected owners I just took a picture of my toy and painted this with water color ^^

You gave it an incredible amount of dimension with your watercolor. I absolutely LOVE it.
