I am super doubting anyone can help me. Somehow, within a day of actually using the memory card and taking it to Wal-Mart to print off pictures, the SD memory card say it needs to be formatted. It had pictures and video that can NOT be replaced on it, since the family members are now deceased. I don't know how we did it... it has SO MUCH video and pictures and I can't make it work no matter how hard I try.

Do you guys have any advice where to take it? I know that on tv crime shows they recover stuff from memory cards ALL THE TIME. I know that's just TV but I assume it's based on reality and ... there just HAS to be a way to recover the information. Do any of you know who I could take the memory card to? This means so much to me. It was the last time I saw my nanny alive at her 90th birthday party. And the last time I saw my Uncle since he died the same year. I can't make new ones... please.

if you know of ANY WAY AT ALL to recover this data or where I can take it... please help me. Any advice would be amazing. So upset. And my mom is more upset than me.

thanks for anything you guys can do. I've posted this everywhere I can think of T__T

DON'T FORMAT IT.

Sometimes memory cards say they need to be formatted when they get old. (And it the world of electronics, old is not that old). If you have a computer repair place in the area I'd try that. I've had luck with the same issue by just continuing to insert it until the message doesn't pop up. Even the geek squad at Best Buy would be a good option. Whatever you do, DON'T FORMAT IT.

The information is still there. Obvious question: some SD cards have a lock switch on the side. Have you tried toggling it and reinserting the card?
